Railtown Design District Designer Q is a monthly series consisting of Proust-like questions posed to a local interior designer. The responses are provided with images of their work.
"For our final DESIGNER Q of 2015 we are delighted to present Beatrice Hsu of Isometrix Design. Beatrice had also joined us for our 2015 Designer Monologues, and we were thrilled when she agreed to participate in our monthly designer feature.
DESIGNER Q – Beatrice Hsu – Isometrix Design
Vancouver Interior Designer Beatrice Hsu is the principal interior designer of Isometrix Design Inc who founded the company in 2008. Raised in London, England she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Middlesex University, London.
She has worked on numerous prestigious hospitality, retail and residential projects before moving to Vancouver in the early 90’s. Beatrice’s unique combination of cultures, schooled experience and international luxury aesthetics is what makes her work unique.
“I have a passion for beautiful architecture, spaces, light, textures, colours and objects. Having been inspired by an architect early in life, I knew this was the direction I wanted to take, preferring however, the quicker results and creativity of Interior Architecture and Design."

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH DESIGN?
My first boyfriend was an architect at the AA in London and his projects were so conceptual and far out, such as the use of rusted metal. I thought it was so cool!

In places like London or New York
